Our Campaign This Season

What is our Hockey Club doing?
As a club we're introducing a new way to help others! At the start of each season we will choose a new charity to fundraise and campaign for.
We previously fundraised for MIND Cymru back in February. The feeling we had as event organisers and as a club once we counted out the money was something words cannot describe. The money raised could help change a life and provide that all-important help and care so desperately needed. By selecting a charity each season we are going to help more people in need, and helping spread awareness not only in our club, but also the wider community.
We want to show a united front in our club, letting our members know that its ok to talk about their thoughts and issues, plus it will raise awareness from our junior teams to our seniors, as we are a hockey family who support one another.
Why Campagin for Mental Health?
Mental Health is becoming an increasingly common issue in today’s society affecting thousands of people worldwide. We previously fundraised for MIND Cymru in February during a bingo event. It was then we decided we wanted to do more to help make a difference.
From what we’ve seen and experienced, through our contact with MIND Cymru, they are one of the biggest and best people locally working towards aiding mental health in the area. Therefore MIND Cymru is are chosen charity which we will fundraise for by hosting fundraiser events however, we also want to help support more local mental health charities such as, ‘Get the Boys a Lift’ who raise awareness by making clothing.
Our Club’s Fundraising Aim
As a club we will be donating Money to MIND Cymru, which is our main chosen charity for this season! For Mind Cymru we will be planning several family orientated fundraiser events.
However, this season we are campaigning for Mental Health therefore we have also decided to kit our club out with clothing from a new local mental health charity ‘Get the Boys a Lift’.
This in turn raises the club profile and the awareness of Mental Health within the club and the wider community.
All in hope that one day Mental Health stigmas and issues can be reduced.
