Very successful @sportcarms awards on Friday night🏆
Laura won Young Sports Volunteer of the Year - as a club we want to say THANK YOU for your dedication🎉
Laura Massocchi was one of three people who had been shortlisted for the Young Volunteer Award at the Carmarthenshire Sports Awards Friday evening,
Laura volunteered to be part of the club committee. As a young ambassador she used her own initiative to come up with ideas , developed them and put time into making her ideas work. She developed the facebook and other social media platforms for the club and has been a key figure in organising socials and fundraisers with Meg Henry.
The club have a great history of developing young volunteers, Rhian Jayne Moremon won the award 3 years ago.
The club came runners up in Sports Club of the Year - this shows a reflection of everyone’s hard work🎉
CAHC were 1 of 3 clubs shortlisted as Club of the Year. Around 15 clubs were nominated for this so it is a great achievement to be in the top 3.
This is a reflection of all the hard work that our players and volunteers have put in over the last few years.
In 2011 we were on the brink of folding, barely able to field 1 team. We now have 4 senior teams, that includes a mens team - (bucking the trend of the rest of the county), loads of awesome juniors which shows how dangerous we will be in the future and a great volunteer network. We have grown to be in top 10 welsh hockey clubs!

But we need more, as our club grows its not enough so say you are a YA or that you are part of team.
We need you to show us that you are part of our hockey family.
How? Come along to a committee meeting, help organise a social night (juniors, seniors, men, women, parents, friends and family all welcome), help behind the bar, collect cups, do the washing up after Teas, umpire, attend a social event, help put kit away. There are so many little jobs that need doing that when they are spread across everyone it become easy to achieve. It's when only a few people take on all the work that cracks will happen, and our club will suffer.
We need you!!! Don't be shy!! Just ask.....
